How am I going to live up to this new standard for quality?? :O
Inspired by Catherine, the solo campaign for our game will be divided into episodes when you’re awake, and sections that take place in dreams. When you’re awake you’ll be in a drab and “normal” world, and you’ll be able to take a walk down to the local bar and chat with people. Based on the conversations you have, a new nightmare will await you when you return to your bed. The dreamworlds are where you’ll run around shooting monsters.
To that end, I’ve been working on textures for the city blocks, trying to make their mundane look contrast the sci-fi horror of the dreams as much as I can. Most of these graphics are reworked bits of tiles originally intended for the metroidvania I was working on (now frozen). I’m happy that at least some of the labour I put into that project won’t go to waste.
So far I’ve been able to keep the textures very small, so I should have space for at least the bar exterior, some cobblestone paving and another building type. Hopefully that’ll be enough variation for a small city block.

Because I’m a retard, it took me four days to figure out how to do photogrammetry, but hot damn it was nice to see it finally work!
